Welcome to E3 week, bringing you all the amazing news out of the years biggest event in gaming!
Nintendo haven't even dropped their main Nintendo Direct yet, but they've just dumped a whole heap of great info right on our laps!
Smash Bros Direct
Nintendo dropped a Super Smash Bros specific direct today, with a whole ton of content and announcements for us.
Characters - We already knew that Lucas was coming to Smash, but we've also been given two other long rumored additions - Roy from the Fire Emblem series, who originated on Smash Bros Melee, and Ryu from Street Fighter, a new comer to Smash! Roy is now less a clone of Marth and more his own character, and Ryu is a massive addition with complicated move sets to perform stronger moves and having not one but two final smashes.
Stages - A few new stages have been added to the Smash games, pulling from all sorts of source material. We are getting the classic stages Kirby's Dreamland straight away, with also Hyurle Castle and the Super Mario Bros stage. We're also getting Miiverse stage on Wii U, as well as Suzaku Castle from Street Fighter. Suzaku Castle, Miiverse and Kirby's Dreamland stage will include "Omega" versions, with platforms removed.
Mii Outfits - a whole slew of new mii outfits are here, including Splatoon boy and girl, squid hat, megaman.exe, Zero from Megaman X, Isabelle from Animal Crossing, Jacky and Akira from Virtua Fighter and Heihachi from Tekken.
Amiibo - R.O.B, Falco, Mr. Game & Watch and Duck Hunt Duo are coming, rounding out the original Smash lineup, in September. Mr. Game & Watch with have swappable poses that come with the amiibo. Japan also seemed to show the original Red version of R.O.B in their direct, hinting at possible colour variants for different parts of the world.
The Mii characters will also be getting amiibo in their generic forms for the sword fighter, brawler and gunner. They will allow for customizations of any outfits.
DLC characters are all getting their own amiibo - that's Mewtwo, Lucas, Roy and Ryu.
ll DLC mentioned above is available for purchase and download right now on Nintendo's eShop.
To the screams of Earthbound fans everywhere, Nintendo has dropped a massive bomb - the original Mother game from the SNES era, which has previously only been available in Japan, has been localized for the west and is available on the Wii U eShop right now!
Blast Ball game for 3DS
During the beginning of Nintendo's World Championships, Nintendo dropped a whole new mulptiplayer video game for 3DS called Blast Ball.
The game is a 3v3 PVP game that works like a shooter, involves blasting a ball into the other teams goal while piloting giant mechs. First to 3 wins.
The game has already been dubbed "Titanfall crossed with soccer", which sounds amazing in my book.
New Amiibo Leaks
Nintendo of Spain accidentally leaked images of new upcoming amiibo this morning in an email to fans.
These amiibo include 4 physical amiibo of Animal Crossing characters Isabelle, Tom Nook, Mabel and K.K. Slider. Also pictured is an 8-bit Mario amiibo, which will presumably be released alongside newly named Super Mario Maker this holiday.
No doubt these amiibo will get officially unvieled in Nintendo's proper E3 direct this week.
And that's everything Nintendo related for now!
